GLUTEN-FREE
Only two items on our menu are NOT gluten-free! Items that contain gluten are: Pita, Gyro meat, Chicken Fingers and Desserts. Teta’s Grill does not recommend our falafel or French fries for our customers with celiac disease, due to them being cooked in the same fryer as gluten products.
Healthy, delicious and satisfying… Teta’s serves your favorite Lebanese Cuisine!
Incorporating a variety of tastes from Asia, Europe and Africa, Lebanese Cuisine both satisfies the taste buds and provides exceptional health benefits to the body. Teta’s made-fresh-daily menu consists of delectable vegetables, lean meats and aromatic, palate-pleasing spices. Our recipes are inspired from years of traditional homemade dishes created by Sam Haddy’s mother – known as “Teta” – to our family.
A few of our traditional favorites include:
Shish Kabob
Although shish kabobs have become an American favorite, many might be surprised to know that shish kabobs are actually an ancient Mediterranean food made in Lebanon and throughout the middle-east. Our fresh lamb or chicken, seasoned with Teta’s marinade, is cubed and then skewered and grilled until the meat is tender and savory.
Shish Kafta
A Lebanese version of meatballs, kafta is prepared by mixing ground beef or lamb with savory ingredients like onion, parsley, allspice, black pepper and salt. For Teta’s Shish Kafta, we skewer our kafta and grill it to perfection… a juicy and flavorful filling for sandwiches or as a main course with rice.
Shish Tawook
Shish tawook is also skewered and grilled chicken meat, but with a much different flavor than shish kabob. Our chicken marinade is blended with tomatoes, yogurt and garlic for a taste that has our customers coming back for more! Teta’s shish tawook is perfect as a sandwich and is delicious with rice, hummus and pita bread and tabbouleh.
Shawarma
Shawarma refers to a style of meat preparation. Lamb or chicken is seasoned and then slowly roasted for hours on a vertical spit until the result is a mouthwatering tenderness. Similar to Greek gyros, the meat is then shaved into small pieces… the perfect complement to rice and pita bread, tabbouleh, fattoush, hummus, and pickles.
Deboned Chicken
An all-time favorite and flavorful recipe, Teta’s Deboned Chicken is marinated in garlic, lemon juice and spices, then grilled to juicy perfection. It’s the perfect protein boost for lunch or dinner, in sandwiches or served with rice and your favorite Teta’s sides.
Fattoush
This classic Lebanese salad combines fresh mixed greens in a lemony vinaigrette dressing. Tossed in are crisply toasted pita bread pieces sprinkled with salt, pepper and ground sumac – a tart, deep red spice made from the dried berries of the sumac bush. Teta’s Fattoush is a satisfying and healthy side to every meal!
Tabbouleh
With its fresh, bright flavor, Teta’s Tabbouleh Salad is made from parsley, tomatoes, cracked wheat, onions, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and salt. Because of these ingredients, tabbouleh has a cooling effect on the body which makes it a great choice on hot days. It’s the great flavor, though, that makes it a great choice every day!
Vegetarian Grape Leaves
Called “Waraq Al Ainab” in Lebanon, Teta’s grape leaves are a healthy and tasty vegetarian option for any meal, whether as a sandwich, side or entree! Stuffed with rice, bulgur and chick peas, our grape leaves are seasoned just the way you love them.
Falafel
Even though there’a a great debate on exactly where falafel originated, we know you’ll agree that ours shouldn’t be missed! Now a popular, flavorful food widely eaten by vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, falafel is a satisfying dish of fiber and protein seasoned with scallions, parsley, cumin and garlic.
Hummus
Made fresh according to Teta’s recipe, our hummus is ideal with our traditional pita and isn’t to be missed as the perfect side dish for everything on our menu.
Whether our dishes are familiar to you or you’re trying them or the first time, Teta’s Grill in Flushing, Michigan strives to deliver our customers with healthy, satisfying and delicious Lebanese cuisine – made fresh daily with the same love and care as if they came from your very own kitchen.
